- The Ralph & Rose Chiodo Harbourside Gallery – Pier 21 Halifax – AUGUST 2008
Una Casetta in Canada, the name of the exhibit at Pier 21, Canada’s Immigration Museum.
The gallery and its Una Casetta in Canada exhibit celebrates the story of Ralph and Rose Chiodo and the stories of other immigrants who came to Canada to realize their dreams and build a new home.
“Ralph and Rose have an inspiring story,” says Kim Reinhardt, Pier 21’s chief curator. “The exhibit celebrates their success, generosity and the contributions they have made to this wonderful country. Their story will always be a part of this place. I hope they know they can always come home to Pier 21.”

- 2008 Toronto Ribfest – Canada Day Weekend
Active Green+Ross is proud to be a major sponsor of the Toronto Ribfest, one of the largest Canada Day celebrations in Toronto. It is held over the long weekend at Centennial Park in Etobicoke. In its 9th year, this popular event put on by the Rotary Club of Etobicoke attracts over 100,000 visitors who come to enjoy live music, succulent ribs and much more…
Ralph Chiodo President of Active Green+Ross is a Member of the Rotary Club of Etobicoke and Chairman of the event.
All proceeds from this fundraising event are returned back to the community through charitable organizations who receive donations from the Rotary Club of Etobicoke.

- The 2008 Welcome To Canada Festa – March 2008
The Famee Furlane Banquet Hall was home to this year’s Welcome to Canada Festa. The event was co-chaired by Ralph Chiodo & OPP Commissioner Julian Fantino to raise funds for the Villa Leondardo Gambin Charity & the PIER 21 Society. Over 500 guests in attendance to enjoy a casual dinner while supporting two great causes. There was a wide variety of food prepared by notable chefs and served by national and local celebrities. Pier 21 is Canada's immigration museum and is located in Halifax. This national historic site was the landing place for one million immigrants from 1928-1971. Villa Leonardo Gambin Charity allows for the provision of enhanced services at it's long term care residence.

- June 2007 - The Toronto Blue Jays celebrate
Italian Day. To help them, Active Green+Ross bought 1000 tickets
and gave out Italian flags. Active Green+Ross also donated
$5,000.00 to the Hospital For Sick Children and $5,000.00 to The
Cristina Ciccolini Bone Marrow Foundation.

- March 2007 – Ralph Chiodo assists in
organizing the Welcome Aboard Festa where the money raised will
be going to the Pier 21 museum in Halifax, and the long term care
facility Villa Leonardo Gambin.
Over 600 participants attended the event. Many attended for the
memories when they arrived at Pier 21, and had a wonderful time.
There was a silent auction, a raffle, and also a live auction.

- Every year together with
the Italian Doctors of Trillium Health Center Ralph Chiodo and
Ethel Taylor and a very dedicated team of committee members and
volunteers, organize Pasta Festa, an evening based mostly on
pasta dishes. Instead of chefs and waiters, the Doctors serve
the dishes.
The evenings are a success and completely sell out.

November 2008 -
Pasta Festa has now exceeded its half-million dollar pledge to the Trillium Health Centre capital campaign. This is recognized on a lovely plaque in the Main Reception of Trillium’s Surgicentre at West Toronto – the largest free standing day surgery centre in North America!

Ralph Chiodo
Receives Paul Harris Sapphire Fellow Award
The Etobicoke Rotary Club was pleased to award
their 1st ever Paul Harris Sapphire Award to Mr. Ralph Chiodo. The
Paul Harris Sapphire award is awarded to a Rotarian who has proven
themselves to be a significant part of the community providing
excellence and leadership in the service of others.
Ralph has been a Rotary member for over 10 years and has served as
President from 2000 to 2001. Ralph is the proud chairman of the
annual Toronto Canada Day Ribfest.

Chiodo awarded 2004 Business Person of
the Year by the Etobicoke Chamber of
Commerce
The Etobicoke
Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the selection of Mr.
Ralph Chiodo as the Etobicoke Chamber of Commerce Business Person
of the Year for 2004. Ralph is a man with drive. At the age of 23
he owned and operated his first automotive service centre. Today
Ralph owns the Active Green + Ross Tire & Automotive Centres, as
well as Peel Chrysler Jeep Dodge and
his own construction company.
Ralph also is an active member of
the Rotary Club of Etobicoke, a member of the board for the
Trillium Health Centres, and works with the South Etobicoke
Regeneration Project, the Holy Angels Recreation Association, and
other local charities.
